Long time, long time

Boy this tutoring things been kind of a routine wrecker. Ask my husband- I rely on a routine. Ask any administrator who's observed me in my classroom- I rely on a routine. Ask any of my past students whom I've turned into obsessive-compulsive freaks- I rely on a routine. Ask just about any person who knows me- I RELY ON A ROUTINE. It's not like I have to turn the light switch off and on three times before leaving the house (although I can see the appeal in that)- I just like to know what's in store for me.

The transition has officially occurred, and I've tutored two weeks straight. Things are starting to make sense to me again. Phew.

In the time that has lapsed since my blogging:

Lori received the most amazing news that their baby is now officially theirs... AND they are off to Ethiopia on Monday. THIS coming Monday. I still can't believe I missed that announcement.

Jas and I watched the dvd's and completed all four online tests from the Because They Waited parenting class. Dare I say it? We got 100% (well, to be completely honest, there was one that had a marking of 93%... but I don't count that one). We rocked it. Sweet.

We scheduled and had our first homestudy visit this very morning at 10 a.m. The inspection. When our social worker knocked on the door, I was ensconced in a cloud of french perfume and was wearing a pink checkered apron tied over my best light blue belted dress. My favorite white heels were on, and my hair was puffed out as big as I could get it. The muffins were coming out of the oven and the french press was ready to be pressed. Don't worry- Jason was indeed smoking his favorite pipe. Boy were we ever ON IT. At the end of the visit we were told that we were the best ever about-to-be parents that she had ever met. And guess what? We weren't even humbled by that comment. Because we know. Oh yes, we know.

And last, but certainly not least, Jason has been working his very cute tush off on plans for our new pad. Every night. Busy, busy, busy. I'd say he deserves a present.

So, here's to a new week. With a two-week, now regular, schedule.

Oh crap. I just realized the time change happens at midnight. GREAT.

Well, the social worker knocked on the door, but I assure you that every other detail of the account of Sandy's first visit is entirely accurate. Right, Lovey?

Thanks, Jas. I contemplated- do I leave it the way is was so people don't think my husband reads things that aren't there? But then I decided, what the heck. When something needs to be fixed, fix it. xoxo
