Yesterday Jason and I finally decided to take a deep breath and make our way through the baby section in Target. Looking at everything turned us to mush... soft and mushy mush.
Would you even believe what a giant step this felt like? To finally be looking at things and thinking about our own little one? I felt so proud to be walking through those aisles with my husband, the future father of my (well, our- but the way it sounded in that sentence just didn't seem like a smooth flow... not like this blabber smooths it out any) child.
Now to picture us at the Target shopping center, baby aisle 13, you need to read the following out loud with your teeth pushed together as you speak, your sinuses sort of shut... almost like you're from Aspen... "Hmmmm. Do you like this crib set darling?" "How about this one? " "What's your general feeling about Classic Pooh?" "Do you enjoy little jumping frogs?" Then joyfully tip your face to the ceiling and chuckle the way folks who know they belong somewhere laugh.
That's right. We were proud.
And then we came home, chuckling all the way and decided to check out the crib set scene on the internet. Are you kidding me? How will we ever decide?
And here's more good news. We've picked out a sling. I've had my eyes on this little creature since I completed my labor doula training. If you're interested in getting one, check out www.mayawrap.com You'll be happy you did.
Now, tip back that lovely face of yours and chuckle. We all deserve it.

We shared the same type of feeling the first type we actually stepped into the baby department of a store. In fact, I think we've had that same feeling each and every time since...just doesn't seem to go away - cool!
Okay, this is totally about your previous post. I am SOOO with you! When I say that to my bio mom friends, they think I'm cracked. Or that it somehow makes you more of a woman to have to deal with the frickin pain of it every month. I say preach on sista....you can add my sig to your petition!!
Ask me how much I enjoyed registering at Babies R Us and Target? We had a great time, and then I've added more stuff online. Fantastic fun!
It's just so nice to willingly go into the baby section and pick things for your future baby!
Too cute Courtney!!
Yeah! I can just feel your excitement, and I'm so excited for you! Baby shopping is so much fun, but sometimes overwelming with all the options. Have fun!
We got so overwhelmed when we went to register that we freaked out and left! So, it's good you're going now to get used to it a little bit! :) We just had NO IDEA what we needed. I ended up doing most of my registering online (boring!) but then I could read all of the reviews - which were SOOO helpful! I highly recommend the reviews.
I love the sling! We're going to have to start searching for all these sorts of things...I'm trying to put things off until I know what we're having!
